Just dropping by with my two cents on this. Been following Vic's stuff for a while now, then heard about this drama between him and Dark Waters. I checked out Dark Water's Facebook page and I have to say, it looked very unprofessional and he was acting immature during the whole thing, and still does. It was after that interview with that lady who was taking after the late Art Bell. The way she turned on Vic so suddenly at the end struck me as odd. I don't know anything about him vs the NADP though, so I can't say anything about that.

It may be that he lost some of his audience because of the rift with NADP. Whats the RIFT with NADP...Im VERY NEW to this site...and was hoping you could explain...having difficulty talking to NADP..was wondering WHY??? A witness was talking to Vic about a Dogman Encounter and when it came to Vic's attention that they were a NADP member he scolded them and said he wanted nothing to do with the NADP. Very odd situation. Funny enough, a day or two later Vic posted something positive about Joedy Cook on facebook randomly, like he knew that situation came to light and wanted to quickly put out the fire. I still listen to Dogman Encounters, but I question some of the credibility of the encounters from time to time, more often than other radio programs that have witnesses tell their stories.

My opinion is that Vic has been the dominant presence with the Dogman subject matter, once the NADP moved from a idea on paper to inception to include actual legwork, it became a threat to Vic's livelihood and fan base as the perceived sole authority on Dogman.

Joedy Cook has been researching Dogman for decades, long before Vic knew what a Dogman was.... There is no authority, yet alone a sole authority on Dogman, every researcher including Vic will tell you that.

I think Linda Godfrey has been researching Dogman long before Vic Cundiff got involved.

I have spoken to Vic several times via email and on his podcast via message board. I know that he is making money and anyone putting in the hard work to make something deserves to be paid for it. The only thing i have ever complained about and it's well known that I always use my real name and have complained about this problem in the past.............separate the real encounters from the fictional entertainment stories and you will never have complaints or problems. The only problem that comes up with real eye to eye encounters is that there are only so many of them and after 3-5 years of YouTube podcast and weekly shows your going to run out of real guests calling in to tell about the encounter they had. Using fictional material to fill in these gaps is totally fine so long as you inform the viewer of the show that the story is written by whoever and is fictional representation of a real encounter or a total fan fiction. There are several shows on YouTube that separate the material from real and fictional encounter reports. The only true problem with mixing the fictional world and real world is that it will kill all credibility within the scientific world for your name and your investigation crews. I don'y want to be associated with fake anything, if I am going to be doing things on my $$$ and time then it's going to be for a real cause and to determine answers for myself. Both Dark Waters and Vic are in the game out of personal interests and $$$$ money but it does not make them bad people it simply makes them normal people with a interest in the paranormal and a need to earn a living also. Problems happen but until we all learn that money and research are connected hand in hand we will all be living in the dark. Humans will never get away from mixing money and pleasure and work and money that's just how it is. If you want to do your own dogman related research then go out and do it. See how hard it is getting police agencies to turn over files and reports. See how hard it is getting real people to talk to you. Just on a simple recent well known suspected dogman attack in KY I was unable within 72 hours of the event to get either the person involved on the phone or the local sheriff. Somehow within 2 weeks of the activity and attack other online rep's and persons were getting interviews with the Sheriff so long as they agreed to let him tell his side of the story cause KDFWR had made the sheriff look bad. After the Sheriff seen the state not helping he did his job and stepped in to inform the local people that a large predatory animal had killed those horses in southern KY and that in his personal opinion it was most likely a Mt. Lion but very well could have been something else unknown to him or his other staff. I personally logged the day and time that I called the Sheriff's Dept. to get a copy of the report but they told me they made no report since no criminal activity took place. KDFWR was even less helpful. See that's the problem gathering evidence! You make calls, you email, you text, you try to get to the scene of the incident or attack and after all your hard work and sore little typing fingers you come up with nothing more then a simple NO or Thank You but we are not talking about it. If your not directly involved with the eye witness or the local police then your out of the loop. If you don't have funding to really drive all over your out of the loop. Then all these little tales, stories, and other information get thrown around a million different channels and blogs and youtube videos until the truth of the matter and actual evidence is so buried in BS that no investigator could determine the actual events that took place little alone if it was a Bear or Dogman that was the culprit in question. I know from first hand work on just this years resent cases that this sorta thing happens every day and with many cases. People lie, they see things that they don't understand, they have little field experience or knowledge of the animals in the area and they end up fabricating a tall tale may times out of interest or fear.

It looks like I am a little late to the game, but I would like to comment anyway. It seems as if there is a common problem among humans, and especially people like us who are interested in the cryptid field. Instead of exclusively concentrating on our own work and knowledge we deviate into personal conflicts. Why divide and conquer ourselves? I believe we are all capable of using discernment without attacking those who we don't agree with (their facts, behaviors, etc.). Our time would be much better working towards our own enlightenment, rather than demeaning ourselves by tearing others down. Soap operas are for the sheep. We are above that, we are the searchers.

I like listening to Vic's guests, but never liked him. To me he come's off like a funeral director. So sympathetic, and consoling. To many that makes him such a swell guy, but to me, it's all an act. Still, that doesn't detract from his guests, AND it gives witnesses a platform to be heard. So in that respect he is doing a service, but I still don't like him. Slamming the NADP was just icing on the cake.

If you listen to his early podcasts he is more normal speaking , at some point he thought this Kasey Kasem routine sounded good.

Before locating this forum, I listened to Vic for a few years and while some of his guests have good content, I just never clicked with Vic's hosting style. Felt like I had to sift through a dozen eps before anything factual surfaced at all.
I stopped listening to his gumshoe doctor Lechter shtick about a year ago.
It seems too soft. Faked for the kinder, gentler generation who'd rather talk about their feelings instead of the thing that caused them. I am interested in work that helps discover a growing mystery by applying logic.
At the risk of sounding crass, I seek facts, not cryptid induced PTSD therapy sessions hosted by Vic. His show might be great for some folks, but I just can't go there.
