I find it interesting the lady who named the dogman Balto said she had nightmares of her kids wandering away with a dogman into the woods, holding its hand. Not these things killing them or hunting, just leading them into the woods. That's pretty interesting I think, that's not your typical nightmare for a monster, but considering what she experienced, it makes sense.

I don't doubt Mandy's "legitimate". I pretty much assume 99% of the guests are telling the truth, they seem convincing enough to ME anyway... If Vic's doing his job, they're all vetted long before they make it on the show. I just can't stand listening to her. There are a few guests I just find unlistenable for one reason or another. For her it was the whining. Albeit, my sympathy reserves have been artificially reduced to near zero over the years due to... Experiences... Lol. Then it was the attacking... See, I am the father of 4 children whom I was not responsible for bringing into the world, and yet, I am the one who is raising them, because their parents didn't WANT them... So when I hear an ADULT, whining and crying because her daddy SAID something he perhaps shouldn't have 30 years ago, acting like she had it rough when last I checked he provided her with her own bed, in her own room and a roof over her head, I get irritated. I recall her saying that her dad had said she overreacts to things... Well I think I would have to agree. So yes, daddy issues, and emotional issues unrelated to dogman. Unlistenable. But hey, I'm ex military and a truck driver, not a grief counselor... To be honest, I found Vic to be unlistenable for a little while too, but the information was too important, and so after a while I didn't mind the voice changer thing he uses. My wife still hates it though, lol. She won't listen unless its a really juicy revealing episode. I liked the last show too, the UK investigator. I really like how open minded he is, just going off the evidence.

I had a father who was ex-paratrooper, seen a lot of stuff I'm sure. He was alright for the first 5 years of my life, but then he started getting worse and worse. It would be little things I did wrong that he'd pick up on, belittle me over. He'd slowly pick apart my self esteem over the course of a few years, until I finally moved away with my mother. Left me with some emotional scars and trust issues for sure, especially with military men. It's taken years to get all that back, but when things like that happen to young children, it really can scar them in ways that to other people just don't make sense or seem silly, and can last a while. Plus, there's always the things that happen behind closed doors that people rarely speak of (Nothing horrific like that happened to me though, just throwing that out there). Some heal faster than others, and it helps to have the right people around you. Thankfully I have my mother who's a wonderful person.
On a more related note, I need to check out more UK episodes, get an idea of who saw what where. Still exciting and scary to think they're here in the UK too.

Yeah, there's that too. He could've been a pedo rapist for all we know. Funny, I just took my mom out to dinner for her birthday and we had a great time, she is a wonderful person as well. My mom kinda filled both roles in my life too. Families are comprised of people. People are fallible and wicked in nature. Nothing is perfect, but family is all that really seems to count the older I get. I think you'll like the UK episode, he's been on before in two other episodes.

I really like how open minded he is, just going off the evidence. Kudos for picking the up the slacker’s slack and being a father! I saw someone else somewhere (maybe in the anti-Cundiff thread) saying he’s using a voice-changing device. His inflection did strike me as robotic when I started listening, but lately he seems human after all: In fact, I think he’s a skilled interviewer. And he offers voice-disguising to guests who want it. But where does this idea that he himself is changing his own voice originate? Still haven’t seen a Vic pic though: Anyone got one? Maybe it’s my 4-1/2-year-old little girl’s having stolen my heart away and her mother’s three and a half years of lying, drinking, and cheating in spite of this unfolding miracle—my first and only little girl!—that made me burst into tears when Mandy’s mother wouldn’t let her be there for Kio’s last breath...but I loved her to pieces! I get what you’re saying, Virtus, and I’m definitely not under much pressure these days, enjoying a stint on unemployment compensation the past three weeks—I’m not driving cross country far from family and supporting four kids—nor have I been trained in any branch of the military (Thank you for your service!) so all I can say is: I’d probably freak if I saw a dogman myself now, at 42 years of age, but I seriously doubt I would have coped much better than Mandy had I seen one at two. I’d probably be on psychiatric pharmaceuticals with repressed memories and inexplicably lupophobic to boot. Her recall is rare, and we’re lucky to have Mandy’s story as (despite her emotion or because of it) it holds a lot of insight for the interested lay-dogmanologist. By the way, after exhausting the catalogue of Cundiff’s dogman show, and being hard up waiting for other podcast episodes—Paranormal UK Radio Network—and waiting for Midnight in the Desert to air—I went ahead and checked out Cundiff’s other show, and speaking of dogmanology, this guest knew her subject. Here are the show-notes: If you've listened to Episode 12, of Dogman Encounters Radio, you'll understand why I was so glad to have tonight's guest, Khat Hansen, come back, to interview for tonight's special, bonus episode of Bigfoot Eyewitness Radio. Episode 12 is, by far, one of the most popular episodes of Dogman Encounters, to date.@
In the Northwest Territories of Canada, there's a place called "Nahanni National Park." Because of the dark, mysterious legends and happenings tied to the place, the park is also known by a much more ominous name. “The Valley of Headless Men." For a long time now, there have been countless occurrences of visitors to the park turning up dead, with their heads missing. On this special, bonus episode of Bigfoot Eyewitness Radio, Khat Hansen talks about why she thinks so many visitors, to the park, have been decapitated, like that and what she thinks is responsible for the murders. Khat thinks nightmarish creatures, called "Face-Eaters," are responsible for these gruesome murders and talks about them on tonight's show. She also talks about her personal experiences with Sasquatch and Type-3's (some people call them "Gugwe").
This is a show you definitely don't want to miss. We hope you tune in!

virtusblack That's lovely to hear that you've got a good mother! I'm actually taking my mother out to dinner for her birthday in a couple of days too, funnily enough! My mum was always the breadwinner in the family, ever since I was little. I agree, blood is thicker than water, I've learned that the hard way more than once. I'll be sure to check out that UK episode for sure. jeritadamson Thanks for that excerpt. I don't know why but Gugwe scare me way more than dogmen. Maybe it's the mysterious nature of them, or how they seem to follow up their threats with actual violence.

Khat Hansens DME episode was awesome... One of my favorites. I should probably start listening to more of the Big Foot stuff. I think I'm somewhat desensitized or turned off to it because here on the west coast its like, everywhere... Been hearing about it my whole life. Hell we even have dna samples of THAT one, haha. But I think the two phenomena are so closely related there's something to be learned there.

But I think the two phenomena are so closely related there's something to be learned there. At first I was bored but then reports of the sheer size and speed and now intelligence of these creatures, bigfoot, has captured my imagination: People are reporting some 12’ tall specimens. And as for smarts, there’s trailcam images of sticks being tossed repeatedly in front of the camera til it resets then the next frame shows the bait gone. And reports of people reporting their coaxial cable unscrewed, the equipment undamaged, or cameras turned away from their target directions, or bulbs unscrewed: I thought about offering a home surveillance service for families harassed by cryptids til hearing about just how smart these creatures are. My thought was that either we’d get badass footage or the cameras would deter the invaders, but apparently it’s a lost cause trying to outsmart these guys. ...mostly...

Yeah its that kind of stuff that makes me think back to the skinwalker ranch phenomenon. It manifested as all different kinds of creatures and things, but all along it stayed one step ahead, was always tricking it's pursuers, and was very clear that it was more intelligent and had nothing but disdain for humans... NOT NORMAL. I can't accept that any of these things are just animals that live in the woods. I suppose that is the ONLY thing I'm not open minded about when it comes to these things, lol.

From my understanding, and I am by far an expert on Dogman, but from what I am told they do have an intelligence above and beyond what we think they are capable of...I know of some locals where I work whose families have lived there for many generations, own numerous amounts of acres of densely wooded property know these creatures exist. They refer to them as "Them" not having internet they are unfamiliar with the term Dogman. There is almost a mutual respect and they will not sell their land in order to keep the peace and safety. I was told recently that a logger went missing..did not make the news so I am not sure it is true. I do know that I drive down that road many times and did not see any loggers for awhile and now another company is there working and are not allowed working before and after dark.

Where is this if you don't mind me asking? One of my frustrations is that most the action seems to be the Midwest or east coast (I'm in wa state)... I bet I could call something in with a recording of a baby crying though... ;P

Hopefully this code works and the player pops up, but take a listen: He sounds exactly the same then as now. Just saying. The code didn’t work. virtusblack,
I would suggest that you have no reason to be discouraged due to your geographical location. The Northwestern states ecosystem is likely the best in the lower 48 for supporting large predators. Any lack of reports could reasonably be accounted for by the sheer size of wilderness area in your vicinity. If you contrast this with the Southeastern states (my stomping ground), there are certainly more reports generated from this area, but I can't believe denser population and markedly smaller wilderness areas aren't at least partially responsible for the larger number of reports. I would also venture that people living in your neck of the woods are more familiar in general with what to expect from time spent in the outdoors and are less likely to misidentify known animals as Cryptids.
Bear in mind these are just thoughts which occurred to me while reading your post. They are not offered as a necessarily complete or correct answer, but merely as factors which seem worth considering.
That said, I wish you all a most peaceful and joyous holiday!

Well I hope you're right! I wanna see one! Witnesses always say "You don't want to see one EVER" but I'm the kid that had to stick his finger in the light socket a FEW times before he decided he didn't want to again... So yeah, I gotta see one... Aliens and bigfoot too. Don't think I'd survive a Giant encounter but that'd be a hell of a thing to see as well. I'm not a Vic Cundiff hater, if I came off that way I apologize, I just used to hate his voice and everyone talks about him using a voice changer thing, I have no idea whether that's true or not. I don't know anything about the technology either, just repeating what I've read. I think he does us all a great service by giving a voice to the witnesses. I support his show too, just bought 4 shirts for my kids for Christmas, lol.

I'd love to see one too! I think a lot of people would, even my mother would like to see one after I told her about a few of the encounters on DER. I guess it makes sense that people who were scared by them would have the reaction of "Don't go looking for them!", I probably would too in their shoes, but in our defence, saying there's werewolves out in the woods is absolutely going to make people want to go see them even if they're dangerous. In all honesty, I'd even want to make friends with them just to know more about them.
And don't worry about not being near any hotspots in the US. I live in the UK and I've heard a few good stories about them being here, so they're more than likely around you too, probably more so.
It does beg the question though; are dogmen in the UK different from dogmen in the US? I wonder if they're better at being stealthy here given that we live all over the place.
