How I wish Cundiff were here!
He seems to have escaped encounters himself, despite years of study.
But I’ve recently moved to the woods...
Is it dangerous to entertain this subject?
I love you, forum-participants: Your responses matter.

I'm not really sure, but I would honestly say no. Thinking about these things doesn't really cause them to happen, though being more aware of the subject will cause you to keep an eye out, probably increasing your chances of seeing one. Like wandering through a forest one day and being blissfully unaware of any snakes, then someone says they see a snake and suddenly you're on a higher state of alert, even if subconsciously.
I'll make a thread to discuss a video I've just watched, it might make you feel better about dogmen, although maybe less so about Sasquatch.

My wife seems to think so. Ever see that movie "The Mothman Prophecies" with Richard Gere? There's a part of the movie where this professor type dude was schooling Richard Gere on what this phenomenon was happening to him, and he was saying it was an entity, thousands of years old, that "NOTICED that you NOTICED it"... And that's why he was getting messed with... Interesting thought... A lot of people have said negative entities like ghosts, demons, aliens etc. feed on FEAR, negative energy... So it would make sense in that context that if you were feeling fear over something because you were thinking about it, it might smell that "fear" or "negative energy" so to speak, and come take a closer look... The native americans wouldn't even TALK about skinwalkers because THEY felt like it would call them. Anyway, since dogman has become a topic in my family, my wife swears she's been hearing tapping on the kids window and strange noises outside the house... I noticed our porch light was out one night, but working the next... I thought the bulb was burnt out but then it worked the next day... So did it get unscrewed? I've heard episodes where they do that. Who knows. My wife thinks that because we have been talking about it so much, we might have lowered some of our homes spiritual defenses and it has an "opening" to come in and manifest. I am open to that line of thinking, it makes sense to me, but until I see SCRATCHES on the door, or prints in the yard, or find one of my dogs disemboweled, I think it's just our minds playing tricks on us, lol. For me, it isn't fear, it's pure curiosity unfortunately, so something tells me I'm not gonna ever see anything

I keep throwing this out there, because I think he might be onto something: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AQzqnulyKw (or - youtu.be/6AQzqnulyKw)Dogman seems to me to fit right into that paradigm - no one seems to get good pictures, there are gatherings related to dogman, etc.. He also has a video on dogman specifically and separately: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPbng2R23vMWoodwardTV is an interesting channel, well presented, and the guy has presentations on most of what we read, hear, and see online - the woo woo stuff. He obviously does a lot of online research to find and present information that is out there (out there in more ways than one, lol). I enjoy his channel and find it very entertaining, sometimes informative.

If they're telepathic which some people claim, then maybe. However the concentration and energy requirements for being able to transmit emotion and information in a way that not even wifi is capable of would be quite beyond me or anyone I know in just how it could be possible. If they aren't telepathic... I doubt it. I've thought about them a very long time and I have yet to have one tapping at my window being like "hey... stop dude... it's giving me a headache."

I am so walled off to any of the higher consciousness/telepathic/remote viewing stuff that I couldn't begin to understand it in any other way than a superficial intellectual written paragraph sort of way. But my wife is the opposite... She's super spiritual, has had interactions with what some might call entities but in THEIR dimension, or ascended masters, spirit animals, all that stuff. I understand the mind is a very powerful thing though. All the remote viewers claim EVERYONE can do it... Our pineal glad isn't filled with crystalline structures for no reason... But my mind just isn't that way I don't think. But I wouldn't doubt it if hers was... She's kind of my Seer... lol. I know there's danger because of experience, she just gets a "feeling"... Clicking on that video now Agent47

I think if thinking about them drew them in, I'd have had one rock up by now with one of my Amazon deliveries given how obsessed I've been with werewolves since I was young.

Maybe it's kind of like women... If you act like you care and give chase, they see you as having lower social value and have nothing to do with you. Treat them like shit and they sleep with you to get you to "like" them... lol. I'm joking, but you know what I mean. That's why I say I'LL never see one, because I WANT to... I'm something of a gear guy... If nothing else this dogman phenomenon is the PERFECT "excuse" to add a couple toys to my war chest...

I get what you mean. It's entirely possible that you will see one if you look hard enough. They certainly seem to like certain people more than others, I think one eyewitness said he thought they liked "sensitives", which would make sense from a paranormal standpoint. Then again, animals can pick up on people being sensitive too so who knows? On that topic, I actually remember visiting a zoo with my parents and it was packed with people. We walked nearby the wolf enclosure, and even though I was very young, I remember every single wolf had their eyes on me for some reason. Of all the people to look at, they were staring at me. I have no clue why though, and I don't remember being scared either.
I'm sure you know way more about the woods than I do, but if there's one thing I can suggest, it's that you look up a lot, especially if you start having a weird feeling. As you've heard, they seem to be able to "run" up trees and hide, so I imagine that could be a good place to start. Of all the time I've spent trail running and hiking, I always looked around, but I rarely ever looked up above me and I think a lot of casual hikers and runners probably do the same.
At the same time, I wonder how many people who want to see them have actually gone on a proper hike into the deep woods? I'm sure if you got a couple of sneaky buddies together and went out and hid, you might see something. The question is though, will it be a dogman or something else entirely?

I'm not the outdoorsman I COULD be if I had more time or if my career path hadn't been derailed, but really I'm not. I can read a compass, map, GPS, build shelters blah blah blah but tracking animals, knowing what they're thinking or up to, nope. I wouldn't mind having my wife with me because she's kind of my seer... She sees things I don't, senses things I don't, etc. But if she comes that means the kids come, and then God only knows what would happen, haha. I'd have every evil creature in the woods coming after my girls ;P. But hey, just getting out there would be fun enough for me.
Proper hike in the woods, that's a good point. I think if you're really serious you should be getting some serious penetration and probably going off trail. THEN you set up your bait and your calls and see what happens. OR.... Find a ranch that's had weird activity?
As for the wolves, perhaps you look delicious? ;P lol.
Yeah, good question... What if you ran into something else entirely? Ever see that movie "the ritual"? SUPER GOOD MOVIE. Everyone must see it, it's awesome, you won't be disappointed. Perhaps there are creepier things in the woods than Dogman... I don't know, catman might freak me out because I barely hear anything about it, or goatman... lol. I think it's all out there. I agree with Brenton Sawin on that one, I think it's all crawling out of the deep crevasses in the earth to prey on mankind in the end days... OH, another great movie, THE DESCENT, another must see. Closely followed by The Cave, not AS good, but still awesome. We should start a "Must Watch Movies" thread...

Wow, you can already do more than me! I'd love to learn how to build traditional shelters. On a tangent, I'm hoping to learn some more tribal outdoors skills at some point, like how to make stone knives, huts, that kind of thing. Old tribal ways have always interested me. Nah, I think you'll be fine! Just keep the fifty cal handy! Or better yet, befriend a dogman, then nothing could hurt you between one of them and a fifty cal! I'm totally going to go off into the Cairngorms here in Scotland at some point and then go off trail. I need to learn how to camp properly first though, no way I'm just going to head out there without some skills. We're not really allowed guns here in the UK either, so it's either mace or I bring one of my homemade curries with me lol. But in all honesty, I have a feeling more weird stuff happens here than people are willing to talk about, and that probably extends to the farmers and shepherds here. Britain has some old stuff in it, including spirits. Even the house I live in just now is haunted by an intelligent (and friendly) ghost, I actually asked him or her to press the swing button on my fan one night and lo and behold it was pressed down. I watched a few parts from that film, really creepy. Yeah, that's the kind of thing I was getting at, really old stuff that nobody believes in anymore still being out there, potentially. The Descent is a film I have watched, and it's really good. Really makes me not want to go spelunking anytime soon. There was actually a video game called The Forest which is inspired in part by the descent, where going deeper underground you find scarier monsters. I've never been a believer of the doomsday prophecies myself. I don't think these guys are related to that personally, I just think they've been around for a long time, and now that technology is getting better and our science is improving, we're starting to catch more glimpses of them. Saying that, I personally wouldn't go down into one of those caves without an armed SAS team behind me lol! Actually, a little theory of mine is that dogmen and humans have a shared history together, especially if the Cinocephalus stuff is anything to go by. They probably know more about us than we realise, and potentially have a society if some of the eyewitness encounters are anything to go by. Could be how they seem to keep tabs on certain people.

There is definitely more going on than what people talk about... My advice would be to befriend the oldest, meanest, nastiest farmer you could find, buy him a bottle of his favorite booze and start asking him questions about the strange happenings... lol. I bought my oldest daughter the "stripes" dogman shirt for Christmas and told her how it was a farmers pet for a year, and that if I catch a baby dogman we can keep it as a pet too and that's what it will grow into, ha! I totally would too... However I have a lot of chickens, this could be problematic... You guys have some awesome airguns though dude... In America there are a lot of people that hunt large game with airguns, all the way up to 50 cal so I say take one of those with you, maybe the Texan .30 cal or something. Melba ketchum's dna samples prove that 50% of bigfoots dna is human, the female side, I have NO DOUBT dogman is exactly the same, so yes I think our histories definitely go back and are intertwined. I don't know if I can justify the Beowulf at this point, probably gonna spring for that $600 thermal scout first. It sounds like we got a lead on some dogman activity at some dudes house here in the area too. Gonna find out some more details here soon, waiting on a call back

There's a few of them here in Scotland for sure. I actually knew some shepherds back when I lived in the Med, used to say hi to them when I went out trail running in the mountains, but they were alright, nothing seemed to bother them.
Aww, I love the Stripes story! You should totally get one as a pet, or adoptive child depending on how intelligent they are lol. imagine teaching one of these things to fire a gun, yikes.
I still need a license for an airgun over a certain threshold, I can't remember what though. We get crossbows too, but those also need a license. Truth be told, I have a feeling that I really don't want to shoot any of these dogmen, it's probably not going to go down well. You guys in the States get the large calibres though so you should be safe.
Interesting stuff. It's all strange, although I'd love to be able to study these guys' social behaviours. I have a feeling that they're tribal, and if that's the case, they could have large tribal groups or even villages, hypothetically, in the Yukon, Alaska or Russia. Actually, I'll bet Russia is choc full of these kinds of things. I always hear of stories coming out of Eastern Europe that are really weird from time to time.
Oh dang! If you see anything, let us know! Hopefully you can catch one of these guys on thermal!

Did you watch the "channeling a dogman" video with "erik"? That was very interesting... Talks a little bit about their social structure and what not. According to THEM, they slip in and out of our dimension from theirs and are distributed all around the world, so long as there is a lot of food. I don't know if she's actually channeling a dogman, probably just a wicked spirit, but she is definitely a real medium. License for airguns... Man that's rough... Gotta love totalitarian regimes! . I just ordered an airgun actually, the Benjamin marauder. Got a bunch of rats because of the chicken feed and I'm thinking I could shoot them and use them as bait for dogman/predators. Talkin with a dude in my area and were thinking between bait and an electronic caller, we might be able to bring one in, and maybe even develop some kind of "trust"... Basically, they come in, we feed them a snack... If they get confused and think WE are the snack, we open up with our .30 cal battle rifles. Personally, I think we're just gonna MAYBE bring in coyotes and raccoons but we'll see. I'll keep everyone updated, pickin up the caller this week and hopefully gonna make it out this weekend.
