Here's a channel I watch regularly. He seems to have good sources, cites them and goes through on a case by case basis. www.youtube.com/channel/UCa5yPMr5aP_UF_94xii-5Rw/videos I can't remember if it was one of his videos or not, but there was one talking about how a Special Forces group got involved in searching for this boy-scout who went missing. They came in packing heat and didn't communicate with the local police or anything aside from the initial introduction. If my memory serves, SF groups aren't allowed to go looking for missing people unless it involves a threat to national security, but I'm going off memory from the video and to be honest, I can't even remember if it was one of these vids or from another series. Apparently it's only happened 4 times in the US, and two of those times it actually involved a human threat, and the other two didn't as far as we know. That's what I can remember. anyway.

That's the Dennis Martin case you are referring to Con. It took place in the Smokey Mountains. Thanks for the link.

That's the Dennis Martin case you are referring to Con. It took place in the Smokey Mountains. Thanks for the link. Interesting case! Took place east of my GGrandfather’s farm. The entire area has quite a few local traditions dating back long before Europeans decided to make themselves at home there.

trolljegeren Thanks for clarifying that, I knew I'd heard it somewhere I just couldn't remember where.

The dennis martin case is one of the cases that sound like it COULD have actually been cryptid related, as people heard a sasaquatchy scream and saw a large figure darting between trees carrying something over it's shoulder. Or am I confusing this with another? Anyway, that one sounds suspect. The rest seem more "ufo/unknown"... The latest documentary had a lady say she saw a large "invisible blob" up in the trees, going from tree to tree...******** is that? lol.

Sound like she was describing a spatial distortion of some kind. An “Elemental” pops into mind.
