I saw that 2 of the horses had to be put down, the injuries were so bad, that is some pretty serious injuries. It is surprising to me that they could not determine the cause of the injuries right away, you would think an expert in the field would know.
Hope this is not going to be one of those stories that just goes away without a conclusion.

Yeah, I'm always surprised to hear it when they don't know what's causing the slashes. I have a feeling this story will probably just disappear, even one of the guys there who's been on the job for 25 years says he's never seen anything like it.

I agree with both of you. I think it will likely disappear with no real answers. It would be nice to get an answer though for once.

So strange how many of these types of mysterious attacks on livestock there are. I don't hold the opinion they've increased... but it is definitely the case that the more attuned you are to this topic the more bizarre the frequency of this type of thing seems.
I still don't know what I think about 'dogmen'.... but nobody reasonable can deny the topic is fascinating.

If memory serves, haven't these cases been popping up more and more in South Carolina as well as New York?

If it is dogmen, I wonder what it is that makes them desire to attack horses like that? Perhaps some of them don't like horses? Or maybe they are trying to catch the horses to eat and only get scratches on them because the horses kick them and run fast? Not sure.

I cannot talk for DM but can say that dogs in general just like to kill things, they love it actually. They used to be wild before we domesticated them. I remember seeing a group of domestic dogs attacking a flock of sheep and killing them one at a time, they were having a wonderful time, there was a Shepard a lab, and a few mutt types, and even a little dog, one that looked like a cross between something and a french poodle.
They all hauled ass as soon as my dad opened up on them with a 30-06 with a scope on it. Fortunately he did not hit one, haha He said they become wild as soon as they get 3 or more together, their wild instincts come out in them, they can even become capable of attacking people.
I think on one day they killed 15 sheep, and did not eat them at all it was all about the fun of killing.
