About 4 years ago we moved to our dream home, in the middle of farms and woods. We have 8 acres witch backs up against some protected land that is undeveloped. Mostly old old farms and woods patched threw them. We are between Oxford Ohio and "from what I recently read" the fabled Germantown Ohio. We keep to ourselves. My wife and son and our dog. I only twice met our nearest neighbor. A late 20s early 30s female. I never see her leave. Her dad stops by from time to time. She dosent work. One night a few years ago I went outside a out 1230am to walk the dog. I had a few beers on a Saturday night as did my neighbor most likely as she was hooting and howling. So I joined in the fun and howled back. No biggy. But this play started happening more and more. We started having weird stuff happen. Someone snapped our roosters neck in the night.and was coming on our property. So I set up some trail cams. Dident catch much but some deer and coyotes. Bit one day I went to check the cameras and my SD card was missing and the camera open. So I gave up on that idea. I am a bit of a prepped. Ok Im a big prepped. So I turned the next few weekends into a full on military operation to figure out who was coming on our property. I got camoed up in a sniper ghillie suit and night vision. Had my night vision scoped rifle out.... Nothing. Argh. So one night it's Saturday again had a few beers but not close to drunk by any means. Took the dog out when i heard the playful howl again... I thought it was my wife at the chicken coup. So I kept walking that direction, no one at the coup. Huh weird. Must be neighbor. So we got to the opening to the 300 yard spread of brush and woods between our houses and I saw what looked to be a naked person with long dark hair like a lions and less hair on the body but still a dusting of body hair. It ran off upright. I dident see snout, or anything like that. Not fangs, glowing eyes, nothing of the sort. But I did get a weird feeling like it was a big dog wanting me to chase it. An overwhelming vibe so to speak. It ran threw the tall brush and I lost sight. The initial contact was about 120 yards out and it ran the other 150 to 180 yards quick. My dog dident seem to even care. Sort of like it was a dog it knew. Not sure what it was. But it dident seem evil or dangerous.

Did you get a decent sense of size? Have you spoken to your neighbor about it? Any foot traffic through your property that you know of-dog walkers, hikers etc? How far from your house was the trail cam mounted and which direction was it facing?

The trail cam is not used at this point. The SD card was stolen. I never reinstalled one. When I saw it,8 it was about 100 ish yards out. It saw me before I saw it and was on the move. I lit it up with a 1000 lume light. I noticed the skin tone was odd and saw the hair. And it was gone. No contact with the neighbor in over a year. I'm a competitive shooter and have a back yard range I am at pretty much every day. One day last summer I was shooting and she sort of appeared next to the range just to say hey. And her dad was clearing brush for deer hunting. Talked to them Abit. She said she noticed I was always shooting all the time And we talked Abit. They asked if they could use a bit of property to hunt. I said I don't mind as long as I can use your pond to fish. Sort of a mutual agreement. So no I haven't gone to her house to ask questions. I'm not 100 percent on this shit honestly. My first thought was it was a werewolf but a buddy just told me about something called furries."people when dress and act like wild animals for a sex fetish. That may be it also. The skin tone sort of haunts me. Sort of a hand pink yet grey. And the hair was not costume... I don't know man. I came here for answers

Honestly. It had to be a good costume if it was. I'm sort of struggling with this lately. The howls sound like a lady joking around . My wife mimics them perfectly. Not a coyote for sure. More of a human just joking howling. But about 3 years ago I was coyote hunting when I heard a no shit scary howl. I decided I'd go inside it was that unsettling.

Interesting..This has been going on for 3 years? How frequently are you hearing howls? Furries eh, that's a new one...Don't know how one goes about asking a neighbor about that. If some shenanigans of that nature are going down over there, it doesn't make sense to me that anyone would be so careless as to dress up at night or be out there howling knowing your shooting habits. I'd at least ask if she hears the howls, safe enough to do that I think and that's where I'd start. A few more questions--When you initially saw it and it ran, did it go towards the neighbors house? Does she have long dark hair? Have a sense whether it was male or female? You have an "8" up there in your 4th sentence, was that a height or a typo? If the latter, did you get a sense of height? The howl you heard 3 years ago that sent you back inside, I assume it was the volume and depth that made it so unsettling but can you compare it to any howl you know? Can you put another sd card in and lock the cam? I guess if the "furry" thing was going on outside and someone realized a trail cam was up and potentially captured something compromising shall we say, that would be good grounds for stealing it. Strange scenario man.

The 8 was a typo. The height was about 6 ft ish. She does have dark hair but not that bufont so to speak. I almost never have contact with her. Only the times I've listed. As for the howls I hear from there it's more of a fake howl in my opinion. Not movie scary howl. Like I said my wife mimics it perfectly joking around howling back when she hears coyotes. I never told my wife what I saw. She will say I'm nuts. The howl that sent me packing up a few years back was much bigger, deeper more of what you would hear in a horror movie. I don't scare easily with a ar15 in my hands. But I had a feeling like I was going to get f@#k3d up. The rifle was up the entire jog to the house that night.

You had a sighting of something, you heard one howl that was pretty terrifying. What's the time span between these events?
The "joking" howls are coming from the direction of her place or actually AT her place, ie she's out trying to call a Sasquatch because she was watching Expedition Bigfoot or wants to see if coyotes are around?
How frequently are you hearing howls?

The joking howls come from what sounds like her house or near by property. The crazy howl came from the old farm pasture across the road. I was hunting on my property using a electric call using a hurt deer sound. I was at it for about 10 minutes when I heard the scary one. I was excited at first but soon realized it definitely was not a coyote. It sounded way bigger. And pissed off. That happened about 3 years ago. Never heard it again.

The crazy howl in response to your caller might not be something to mess with, sure would be nice to get eyes on it though to have an answer. Did you ever use that call there again?
Is asking the neighbor about the other "joking" howls out of the question? That may clear up some things or compound them. I'll be passing through OH on I-70 within a couple of weeks. Doesn't look to be much of a detour to your area. If it was happening frequently enough that you think it's worth it, we could have a look around.

I'm not gonna get too cought up with the neighbor. It could have been a dude with dredlocks high on meth for all I know. As for the crazy howl. Yes I have used the call many times since. I wouldn't mind putting a 6.5 creedmore in whatever that was. As for help. I appreciate the offer. But I'm pretty low key with people I meet on the internet. No offence.

Will do. It's been about 2 months. I've been researching some stuff. Haven't really heard anything at all since. I loaded the trail cams and put them high in trees so no one sees the red flash. And candy get the card.

I have been reading others encounters on this forum since I posted this. The encounter near violet Canada sent a chill up my spine. The guy said he thinks the creature was attracted to his gunshots. Being I have a shooting range on my property and shoot about 50k RDS a year this sorta got me wondering

It's speculated that DM/BF associate gunshots with an easily pilfered meal. Information gathered from tailing hunters no doubt. If that level of intelligence can be attributable to either creature, I gather, given the rounds sent downrange, that you've been vetted and deemed a "non-producer of free meals" That's more speculation, maybe they just investigate loud noises.
Edit: The account you mentioned---that was the guy who supposedly put 4 rounds of 45-70 center mass? If that did go down, I hope that was cowboy action ammo....But da^mn, even if it was...
