What do you guys think of this story that was released on Youtube? I think it sounds pretty legit even if he's unaware that the upright canines are observed almost daily rather than once every 10 years like the song stated. Sounds like he's done his research though and the description seems fairly accurate: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot1Q2FrNAJE
Full disclosure, I only listened to the first five minutes. In that time there were three statements that I would consider red flags.
First, the Gable film he mentioned has been convincingly debunked. IIRC it was a college students class project.
Second, he claims to have observed Dogman on many occasions, alluding to these sightings occurring over an extended period of time. Although not outside the realm of possibility, that seems unlikely to me and doesn't correspond with the vast majority of reported sightings.
Finally, being a Naturalist, I have a hard time with the idea of Dogman initiating an apparently unprovoked attack on a cougar.
Let me explain my thinking here. It's fair to say that the anecdotal evidence (since that's what we have) indicates that Dogman behaves as an apex predator. Cougars are also apex predators. While two top predators will compete for food sources, it is nearly unheard of for them to prey on each other because the risk of injury is too high.
Granted, I'm attributing Dogman with behavior patterns we aren't certain it exhibits, however this is the way known predators have evolved to behave.
As always of course, in the end this is all speculation. Reasonable speculation I hope, but speculation nonetheless.
