Nadp, is there any information that dogmen can swim rivers, canals or lakes? Has there ever been sightings of a dogman on Cape Cod, Massachusetts?

jasper, there are reports of Dogmen swimming very easily. Look at Linda Godfrey's blog & books. There have been Dogman sightings in Massachusetts, but I don't recall ever reading about or hearing about any sightings on Cape Cod. Check out the "encounters" map on this site, & the Cloaked Hedgehog Dogman Sightings Map on the internet.

Thank you, Wolfhound. Cape Cod has a sizable coyote population which I have seen coyotes on more than one occasion; in fact, in my brother's backyard, along with wild turkeys, deer and other critters. A while back my brother saw some unusual tracks near the cranberry bogs which abutts a sizable wooded area. He often runs near there. I have asked him to take pictures of the prints and send them to me if he sees them again. Yes, this could be something prosaic altogether. Moreover, my brother told me that back in the early eighties he remembered an incident of sheep being ripped apart in the Sandwich area of Cape Cod that puzzled investigators. I am looking into trying to find information on this. Again, this is indeed nebulous but my curiosity is peaked. Wolfhound, I will check out the maps. Thanks, again.

On Vic’s show there have been several guests reporting seeing dogmen swimimg in lakes and that they are good swimmers that take long human swim strokes, not dog strokes and they are fast.

Thanks, Adam. I am listening to all of Vic Cundiff's Dogman Encounters and have been looking for this.

The one that comes to mind takes place in Texas where a guy and his girlfriend are boating and watch a dogman go into the lake and swims. It seems them and they get scared and take off.

Hi Nadp, just keeping my antenna up with all possibilities when it comes to wildlife on Cape Cod. I do know that there is a plethora of wild life from coyotes, guinea hens, turkeys, deer, cats, dogs, raccoons, spawning fish, with ponds, bogs, creeks, and obviously the ocean that provides sustenance to organic life. I have seen pretty much all of this game over the years, especially in my brother's back yard in Falmouth, MA area. Recently I listened to Dogman Encounters 115 whereby a gentleman talked about piles of scat on top of the roof where he resides in Maryland. I told my brother who lives in Falmouth, MA about this just this evening. My brother is a master electrician who has been on the Cape since 1978. My brother's ears perked up because he mentioned just recently that the local utility repairman from the company Evergreen mentioned he was puzzled by a large pile of scat on top of a roof he was servicing very close to my brother's home. The utility repairman was perplexed what could have done this. Again, there might be a plebeian cause to this but from what I got from my brother the Evergreen repairman thought this was really odd in its size of the scat. I will inquire further to get more details if possible. Anyhow, this came out in the news just recently. Maybe nothing but will continue to dig: www.capecodtimes.com/news/20180402/police-investigating-truro-coyote-deathsAlso, I found this which my brother remembered back in 1981. Here is the link. Scroll down to the "Beast of Truro.": www.bostonglobe.com/lifestyle/2013/10/25/monsters-new-england/2vkXK8GhxUIDLAWfLblqaO/story.htmlA better article in the New York Times: www.nytimes.com/1982/01/17/us/beast-of-truro-mystifying-cape-cod.html

I failed to mention that the "Beast of Truro" had its beginning elsewhere. In speaking with my brother who lived on the Cape at the time of the Truro incidents there were reports of "mutilations" in the Sandwich and Harwich area first. Look on the map of Cape Cod and you will see Sandwich, Harwich and Truro moving west to east. A hunter who specialized in big cats was brought in to hunt the animal. My brother clearly remembers this. The hunter who looked for animal was never mentioned again. When I get to the Cape in the future I hope to go through the Cape Cod archives to find any information before reports on Truro were mentioned.

I would also like to know if there was any damage in the home ie: broken furniture, broken doors, raided kitchen, maybe a claw mark or two. Of course, the police would be careful to not mention any of that.

Hi NADP, Tonight I spoke with my brother who lives on Cape Cod, Falmouth, MA. My brother is a master electrician who has resided on the Cape on and off since 1980. He has permanently made the Cape his home since 1995. Now my brother is definitely one of those skeptical types who has to see to believe. He is very analytical considering the trade he is in. Moreover, he understands that talking about such unusual phenomena is not good for business considering Capies are very insular and do not lend themselves to the sublime. With that being said my brother is incredibly bothered and interested in the Dogman Phenomena. It was my brother who pointed out animal mutilations to me going back to 1980 in Sandwich and Truro which has peaked his interest when I introduced the Dogman phenomena to him recently within the last few months. I have sent various episodes of Vic Cundiff's show Dogman Encounters which he has yet to listen to. This is important to remember considering that it was my brother who habitually asks me questions regarding this strange alleged cryptid when I verbally brought the subject up to him.
Besides my brother telling me about Cape Cod's power company (Ever Source) repairman telling him about a large pile of scat on a peak of the roof and the recent break-ins of houses on Truro his antenna is up. A few months ago my brother saw unusual tracks in and around a Falmouth cranberry bog where he runs. This is a very isolated, heavily treed and bush area, set far apart from the commercial roads. My brother trains there as this place affords the best place to run with our upcoming obstacle course race this July.
In speaking with my brother he queried me a bit about something very odd that happened to him recently. I must take his questioning as anecdotal and I shall ask you to do the same. My brother asked me that folks who see a dogman do they see it moving? I said, not always. He asked does this animal remain very still to the witnesses. I said, yes. I told him according to Vic's witnesses this is part and parcel to its modus operandi. My brother said while running he saw a very large black shape hidden behind some thick brush that had a shape whereby it looked around 8 feet tall! He could not see its legs but got the impression that the upper half of its body was very large. My brother went on to say that he stopped running because he felt he was being watched. Moreover, my brother strongly felt what he saw had a snout like a dog when he focused on the area that demanded his interest. Furthermore, my brother said he stayed in place and continued to study what he described as a black form highly unusual to the environment which he is accustomed to. He was dead sure that the anomaly he was witnessing was NOT part of the milieu he has seen many time before. My brother said either he looked away for a moment or the wind picked up and the black figure was gone. My brother is quite sure that whatever was there was there and now was gone. He has told me many times that something is not right by the cranberry bogs. Again, this is all purely anecdotal. But, I know my brother and over the years when his antenna is up on something it usually turns out that he is suspects something. And, he is nine times out ten correct.
