Excellent point. I've noticed this too.

Even the local news services just drop these stories. I could understand it dropping off of the national news scene, but it seems like the local affiliates would continue covering such a strange story to conclusion. But.... nothing.

It's really weird isn't it? I hate the whole conspiracy nut trope thingy but at this point, what else can we really say? Some of them though it's like even the government, or at least parties involved, don't know what's going on. I think a lot of us are in the dark, most more than some.
I was watching vids on Missing 411 cases by Top Mysteries on YouTube (He's very good and cites sources, even criticises said sources if he finds discrepancies, highly recommended) and the amount of people who vanish and there's never any follow-up or anything. All the people who are searching are left with questions too, it's just so strange.

Chronicles, and it is the man they use in the intro of the show that says, "it looked at me like it just wanted to kill me" he gives a brief mention of his father or grandfather that worked for the gov. and he said they knew things about these creatures. Hard for me to tell if he is lying by just listening to him, but he seems like a credible witness to me and a very smart man. I recommend listening to his testimony it was one of the most interesting ones to me, because he may have had a telepathic encounter that he does not mention.

The man that you are talking about is named Mike Wooley. He passed away this past April.
One of the things that always bother me about the "semi-professional witnesses" that make the rounds on all of the podcasts is that their stories seem to continually grow. They next to keep upping the shock value in order to stay in the spotlight.
Mike Woole's story of his original encounter never changed, never wavered. Even though it took place in 1981, you could still hear the effect that it had on him decades later.

I would have loved to talk to him on the phone, about his encounter, I think he left out some details that I could have gotten him to talk about. I would like to say that sometimes its normal for a story to change a little but should not change a whole lot, or contradict itself. The story I posted about me getting lost in woods, and also finding an evil place there, has a lot more to it than what I wrote down in my post. Sometimes people are not sure they want to tell the whole story, and then like mine that happened to me something like 37 years ago, is a little fuzzy on some details and as I think about it I start to remember certain details that I left out that I had forgotten about.

Mike Wooley told his encounter probably well over a hundred times in various formats. Heck, his account is on a permanent loop at Expedition Bigfoot in north Georgia.
Although he had other encounters later in life, his story of the original incident always stayed extremely consistent throughout the years.

Hello HBH
Ohh wow I had no idea, I am new to all of this. I am not a researcher, so am still learning and listening. I had a few encounters many many years ago and tried to forget about them, and had no idea anyone was interested in the Sasquatch thing until about a year ago, started listening the Sas. Ch. and it sparked my interest, for the first time really. I had no idea there were people interested in DM even less so, util I found this track i posted here about 3-4 weeks ago, and that is what brought me here.
What about you HBH, may I kindly ask what brings you here, have you had an encounter or are you hearing things in the woods that have you worried or curious?

I spent the weekend in the woods checking out a local area of interest. My partner and I research in the Carolinas, North GA, Smokey Mountains area. We have had a few experiences both before and after we ramped up our physical research. I can't say that it was Dogman related, but I can't rule it out either. As far as what brought me to this forum...I just happened to stumble across it while researching the subject online.

I would think that most people that are interested in this field, probably have had some kind of sighting or encounter of some kind to make them become interested in this subject.
I also am thinking about getting out there in the woods a little more often, I love the woods, and it would be nice to have someone to go with, they say you should not do this alone.
I am in the North Houston area close to the Sam Houston National Forest, but I know that is very far from you.

My partner and I have been looking for people to investigate with in this area. I don't have any interest in going out with a large group, but a couple of the areas that we have investigated have resulted in negative experiences. We are going back, but it would be great to have at least 2 more people for safety's sake.

These stories always pop up in the news cycle, are hot for a couple of days, then disappear without ever being mentioned again. This story. The llamas and donkeys killed by a mysterious animal in Kentucky. The unknown primate that was trying to take children and pets in Texas. There is never any resolution or follow up. Not even a 'Hey, we figured it out. Nothing to see here. Move along.' It's like another party has become involved and makes the story disappear. With our never ending news cycle, it is out of everyone's memory in a matter of days. I guess we need to start contacting the news agencies that put out these stories to find out what the conclusion to the story is. I remember I once thought I would be a treasure hunter part time, and this would get me out of the house on the weekends, and I saw this story in the US, and it talked how part of the street caved in and they found this mysterious tunnel, that was built long time ago, and it was just killing me to know what they found in it and who built it and when it was built etc. well never heard another word about it.

That’s a really great idea. True investigative techniques!
