Things like this have always interested me - while I am not a professional researcher, after viewing a short documentary that was recently posted on YouTube (link below) I have begun independently looking into a few things regarding the incidents and folklore surrounding the events in the region known as Cold Hollow VT. The producers of the video have a website (link below) which they have cataloged at least some of their research into the matter, which I have been working to independently verify. One item, which seems to have a significant amount of outside corroboration is the strange nature of the area in which at least some of the alleged encounter events have occurred - the area colloquially known as the "Bennington Triangle". I was curious if anyone in NADP had investigated this particular section of region 3. Currently planning a trip out there myself within the coming months. I think that's a video I did some research on, but I'm on my way out the door right now and don't have time to check. I did Google map lookups, etc. and there are some bizarre things about the film, if it's the one I'm thinking of. --- 8-27-2019-- Ok - I found my folder on this. I sort of burned-out on further investigation of this video, but I'll post some of what I did find and it was intriguing from a perspective of checking/verifying the locations shown in the video. I became interested to try to actually find some of the places portrayed in the video and I did. Some of the locations didn't seem to quite match-up. There is a big difference in the focal length of lenses used in the video vs. Google's lenses, but even allowing for that, there are so many differences in the actual street photos and the video. There is obviously quite a span of time difference between the video and the Google pics, but they are so different it's like looking into an alternate universe. I found the buildings, but entire areas around them are RADICALLY different, even allowing for focal length, camera angle, and times the images were made. So much so it's spooky (or suspect). What do you think? Bible Central Church, Enosburg CONTINUED IN FOLLOWING POST(S)....

CONTINUED: What puzzled me about these two (above) is that there s a different building to the left of the red brick building in each shot, and the buildings in both shots look like they've been there for 80 years.

CONTINUED: Not really anything suspicious in these two, just a difference in time I think, but it's the same place I'm 100% sure.

CONTINUED: Maybe just the passage of time in these two: trees different, new sign, etc..

I don't see anything suspicious in these two. It looks like a straight up match. If I recall (and it's been a while, so I could be wrong), the video gave the impression this was in a different location than where I found it (I'm not going back and watching it again - too much on my plate). The Inn is located at 241 Main St., Montgomery CTR, VT

CONTINUED: This comparison is pretty weird because the entire background looks like a different place and th buildings beside the church look different. That being said, this comparison also has a HUGE difference in focal length and apparent compression of objects which does account for a lot. The signs are different, but that could simply be they were changed between when each image was made.

Like I stated, most of the differences between the location shots I could find could be accounted for by focal length, camera angle, where the photographer was standing, and differences in the point in time at which the video was made and the other shots were taken, but there are so many profound differences (whole groups of buildings not there, which I can't quite explain away by time or focal length). The video seemed vague about locations and they don't seem to quite match reality.
I would say the video is a production that takes a lot of license to tell the story. It is an interesting story.
Anybody care to dig further, go ahead.
I don't think there is a problem with me posting the clip shots here as I think it falls under fair use. If anyone disagrees, I'll just take them down.

I have no idea... I just wanted to say excellent sleuthing... I know a skilled photographer can do LOTS with a camera without even touching photoshop to get the "effect" or "feel" they want, but the documentary over all was kind of disappointing... He did an EXCELLENT job producing it, it felt spooky and captured me, but really, there just wasn't much there... The only real thing that made my eye brows perk was that (SPOILER ALERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT) the book got stolen... It's not the crime that gets you caught, but the coverup... And so yeah, I hope he makes more documentaries but perhaps with more concrete material next time. As for the pics, who knows. He did a great job with the imagery and whatnot so maybe he could have made it appear as something it wasn't just to make the film. Great sleuthing all the same.
