I agree with copydonald, it wouldn't be very difficult to determine if the wounds were caused by being shot or mauled. Not much similarity between the two. AG47 also makes a good point regarding the injuries. If exit holes were present it would pretty clearly indicate gunshot wounds. If there were no exit holes then the bullets should be relatively easy to find in the carcass. Even if they shattered, fragments would remain in the animals. Bite and claw wounds caused by a predator also present with obvious characteristics.
I think the mystery here is why there is a debate at all regarding cause of death. My first thought is that F&G has some information they don't want made public. IMO this doesn't necessarily mean Cryptid. Government agencies have a long history of keeping information from the public 'for our own good'.

-Whitefeather- totally agree with your assessment.
This is starting to kinda remind me of the story Dave Paulides tells of the parks LE people and how they stonewalled his requests for info.

Very interesting, no blood anywhere. I also find it interesting that all this weirdness is increasing everywhere at an alarming rate. Its seems to me that all of America is becoming Jurassic park. The movie is the message and all that.

The most interesting part of this, besides for no one able to agree on the cause of death, is the husky. The husky had no visible wounds which mean obviously the dog wasn't killed. We can't determine the cause of death for the husky but that means something internal such as a neck break.

I dont believe they were shot. I have seen pictures showing the mini horses and to me there is no bullet hole. Fang marks definitely, claw marks definitely but a bullet hole i cant see it and i have been around guns and hunting my whole life.

If it was a gsw why would the sheriff think differently? None of it makes sense, if anything that makes people not believe Game and Fish. The owner looked a bit umm fearful perhaps he saw or knows more than what is said. And yes cats do tend to do this kill frenzy thing where they go off and kill 10 or 20 goats.. but it's not silent and in this case it makes no sense no sound even a gunshot, if that's what it was. It is fishy to say the least.

It is fishy to say the least. The truth is there is a long and detailed history of people seeing large 'black cats' or 'catlike' animals around mysterious livestock killings that later was blamed on 'wolves' in the middle ages. People often also describe dogmen as moving very fluidly and of describing their steakthiness as 'catlike' Food for thought

Anybody have any updates on this story?
I'd really love to know what did that to those animals.

It gives me a serious case of the creeps. Those are large animals that were killed very viciously. No matter what did it, it is not a good situation at all. Isn't it amazing how the majority of people just forget stuff like this. The interest just sort of dies down. I'll be the person whose animals were killed hasn't lost interest. I'd be beside myself and very concerned about any future attacks.
Just about every night I think about the fact that we sleep in houses and rooms with nothing but thin pieces of glass separating us from who and whatever is outside.

Agreed... but likely that's always been the case I suppose.

arcanelife, Yes, but it doesn't make me feel any better. I think it's sort of like winning the negative lottery: The chances something's going to get us are very very slim if we don't be or go into known problem areas. If I was building a home and had the budget to build it any way I want, it would be substantially different than what we've been taught to build and live in, not only from a security standpoint, but from a fire-resistance and protection standpoint, et al.

I also dug deep as i could into this and the bottom line is this. #1 KDFWR rushed the investigation and quickly tried to say it was not an animal attack but they did not official criminal case investigation on the owner? ? The Sheriff's Office has no report filed of the incident since no actual crime was taken place? I tried to obtain the Sheriff's Dept. Police Report on the case but they told me since no crime had taken place that they made no report on record other then the interviews and the news reports. KDFWR refuses to even talk about it on the phone or via email with me. The very second I mentioned NADP I was basically told that they could not help me with anything involving the Horse kill incident. All they would tell me is that they suspected humans killed the Horses and Dogs but they did not do a necro on the bodies and they did not do any other investigation related to the owner? Wonder why all this got so rushed and was so fishy??? Probably cause it has to do with either an Mt. Lion Attack which is possible but unlikely considering 3 dogs and large dogs at that were there, and 3 horses even small mini horses are a hard kill in one night for one Mt. Lion. I mean use common sense here...............3 Large Dogs around to protect the property and a 150 LBS Mt. Lion managed to fight and kill all 3 dogs and the 3 horses in one night and no one heard a thing outside going on. I would think that at least one Dog or Horse would have landed a wounding blow to the Mt. Lion considering horses kick like crazy and Dogs that large can fight like hell. No healthy cat is gonna take all that on for a meal and not hang around to eat the meal after it won the fights. No Mt. Lion is going to survive a bunch of broken ribs or bad bites from dogs either and not be found near by dying of it's wounds. It's rare for Mt. Lions to actually kill horses with out getting hurt in the process and only a very hungry cat will take on a horse even a mini horse.
