The guys who caught this footage are claiming it's a "Hellhound" which likely is just a mistaken Dogman in my opinion. After viewing this footage I'm pretty convinced that it's just a VERY large black bear. However the body is kind of weird looking and the ears a tad pointy so I decided to post it here and see what you guys think. I'm fairly certain it's just a big ole fluffy bear though regardless of what they are claiming. However if bears this large live in the Appalachians, well I'm a tad concerned for my next hiking trip next spring XD I'll be sure to bring bear spray this time around. www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGQAT-kUaXQ

Kaipo: I have to agree with you it looks very similar to a bear but the back throws me off. Its like a hyenas back and it look like the front arms are a little longer than a normal size black bear just my take on it.

kaipo, there absolutely are black bears in the Appalachian Mountains as big as the creature in the video, which is a very large black bear, in my opinion. The state record black bear in my home state, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, is currently 744 pounds-field dressed:879 pounds estimated live weight. There have been several 800+pounders killed in Pennsylvania and a lot more in the 600-700 pound range. One of the 800+pound bears was killed in southwestern Pennsylvania on the Chestnut Ridge in Fayette County, which is my main area for Bigfoot research. On average, 60-70 bears are killed each year in Fayette County during the 3-day bear hunting season. In addition to the bear spray, you might want something more potent, if you get my drift. I'm not very electronically adept so I hope my attempt to provide a link is successful. The date the article was published was 19 November 2010 poconorecord.com>article>ne

Clearly a bear. Look, shape and movement all point towards a bear. Dogman are known to be fluid with their movement, unlike this bear.

I'm not sure what the laws are regarding firearms in that area though and I don't want to get in trouble for bringing anything more than bear spray with me. I'm considering bringing something in the even I just by chance happen to encounter a Dogman though... like maybe some extra meat to bribe my life or something XD. Zttack1911 I have to agree with you. It looked slightly strange to me which is why I posted it but I'm like michael in that I think it's a bear for sure. Just the ears looked pointy to me and it just looked weird and I've grown up seeing big black bears back in California.
