I’m not sure what I saw but I will recount it here. It was about 10 Years ago and I was driving down W. McDermott St. in Allen Texas. It was in the Watters Creek area A block or so passed Lowes. Back then it was an empty field.
It was around nine in the morning and I saw two creatures lying curled up in the field together, just as dogs would lay except they were very large. They weren’t very far into the field maybe 50 feet from the road maybe a little farther, And as I passed one of them got up and turned in a circle and laid back down. My first impression was lion? What in the world? It was black And it had a large mane and golden spots on its body. My second impression was Hyena? Because I noticed it had sloping hindquarters.
I drove onto the house of my friend and told her what I saw and she told me that two hyenas had crossed in front of her and her husband on the bike path previously. We marveled that there were wild hyenas right here in Texas and that was the end of the conversation basically. I had never heard of dog man or I would have grilled her intently. Lol. We have since lost touch, she moved somewhere Far away.
About a year ago I happened upon A dogman youtube but it wasn’t until I heard a couple of people also describe their first impressions as a lion that it all came together. I immediately found some hyena vids of different types and none of them were as large as the two creatures I saw, not even close. It’s been a long time but I would say the one I saw change positions was about twice the length of my Labrador Retriever. So maybe 5-6 ft. I wish I had more to tell.

Wowee, that's pretty nuts! I've heard people describe them as Hyenas on Dogman Encounters, so you're definitely not the first. At least they weren't interested in you, so it was a more positive encounter. Thanks for sharing your encounter here!
You should contact Josh Turner, paranormal round table is his youtube channel. He lives in Texas and would not only be interested in hearing your story, but can probably tell you other stuff that's happened around there. Texas is a hotspot for weirdness...
I’d love to talk to you more about this encounter I’ve come across something similar before. Most North Africa mythology talks about Werehyenas. I think that is probably what you saw. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Werehyena
