Anyone else planning on hiking during the Eclipse?
I originally was going to backpack Sunday evening but those plans changed.
I plan on hiking one of two known areas to have dogmen sightings, if there are not to many people I'll hike Sugar Creek (Bellbrook, Ohio) or Twin Creek MetroPark, Germantown MetroPark area (Germantown/Farmersville Ohio).
This will be my first hike in the woods during solar eclipse, pretty damn excited.

Bryanb, that should be pretty exciting. Are you going to make some video or stills showing us how dark it gets in there?

I took some photos as we hiked along. Didn't get very dark here, definitely could see the difference in light and at the peak of the solar eclipses the temperature dipped by 10f or more which was very welcome.
Ended up hiking the Germantown Metro Park. We started at 7101 Conservancy Rd and started at trail mark 16. Hiked up the orange trail to trail mark 10 and took the blue trail down to trail mark 12. From there we hiked to trail mark 9 and headed to trail mark 8 where we took the grey trail loop back to the orange trail then headed back to the car.
We were near trail marker 8 during the height of the eclipse. All the birds quieted within 15 seconds of each other and didn't make a peep for 20 minutes, just the sound of bugs were present. Found this to be a little eerie.
I have some pictures worth sharing and one very interesting one I'll get into later. Give me a day or two and I'll have some up.
8/10 for this park, beautiful during this time of the year if you can deal with the heat.

Bryanb, thanks for sharing. I'd love to see some photos. It didn't get very dark here in Pennsylania either. I enjoyed watching the video feeds from the places where it got really dark. I can see how primitive people would have fallen down on the ground in fear during an eclipse, not understanding it. It's eerie-looking for sure.
