This may be a question that has been asked before, but is there any correlation between Dogmen & known missing persons cases? By this, I mean are there any Dogmen reports that overlap with reports of the missing? I don't know of any Dogman reports that I could read, that I could compare geographically with those of missing persons, so I figured I would ask those who research this creature & this creature alone.
Any information you have on this would help assuage my curiosity. I have already started a side database on missing persons and Sasquatch reports in the same area, I would like to add Dogmen to this as well.

In David Paulides book "Missing 411: Eastern United States" pages 55-57,there is a case from a June 1868 newspaper article in Michigan. Near the town of Valhalla, which is within what is today the Manistee National Forest,a young child named Katie Flynn (3 years old) suddenly went missing and was found the next day alive &,with the exception of some scratches, unharmed. An impromptu search was quickly initiated, but was suspended late that night. The next day a "faint cry" was heard by the searchers in the late afternoon & as they made their way through the dense brush,a second "cry" was heard. Then a large, dark colored,fur-covered animal was seen leaping from the heavy brush into the river. It escaped despite being shot at by members of the search party. The child was found nearby, standing on a downed tree trunk. Upon being questioned, she stated that "A big doggie came along, took me in his arms,& walked away with me. He brought me here and left me for a while. When he came back, he had some wintergreen berries in his "hand". He gave me the berries to eat." She also stated that it scraped together a pile of leaves on which they both slept through the night. One of her shoes was missing & when asked about it, she said "big doggie ate it." The newspaper claimed it was a bear, but Katie called it a "big doggie". There is another similar case,in the same book, regarding the 9 May 1888 disappearance of the 2¹/² year old daughter of Millard Davis of Boiceville,New York. It was reported in the 15 May 1888 edition of the New York Times. The child was found 24 hours later & 2 miles away in a deep valley. She stated that a big bear had taken her,& that she slept beside the bear through the night. Bear?Dogman? Bigfoot? Something else entirely?

prairiewildman,if you haven't already heard them, you might want to listen to Vic Cundiff's Dogman Encounters Radio, episodes 90 91 & 93 on You Tube. I think you're certainly well armed with the shotgun & loadings that you mentioned. Since a shotgun would be too cumbersome in my situation,I "settle for" a revolver chambered for.454 Casull with 360 grain hard cast lead bullets. The state record black bear killed in Pennsylvania is 836 pounds. Three "800+pounders" have been killed in Pennsylvania, with one being taken in Southwestern Pennsylvania within the main research area (Chestnut Ridge) of our Bigfoot research group, the Fayette County,Pennsylvania Bigfoot Research Project.

I have the Missing 411 books. I am going to look up that encounter and try to compare it with modern missing persons cases. As for Dogman Encounters, I have heard of it before, but never listened to it all that much. That is going to change.
Thanks for the info!

Will do!
I don't know when it will be done, but I will definitely share it when it is. I am not one of the types that conceals information, I will happily share the reports that I have gathered.
