I am just checking to see if everyone is okay. I didn't see any new posts for a while and getting a little concerned. Hope everyone is just busy and/or enjoying the Spring. I want to start planning some couple day camping trips myself in the Cascades or Olympics, I've ordered a neat inflatable dog bed by Klymit so my dog won't look at me like I'm rude when I make her sleep on the floor of the tent without her own bed, and I'm curious to see how it works and how she likes it, product claims it will support dogs up to 100lbs. We will see!
Anyone have exciting plans for Spring/Summer? I personally like staycations in the pacific northwest because this time of year is when it's nice to do things locally.

Doing alright, just super busy between work where I am fixing up a bunch of broken PTAC's, microwaves and one vacuum in addition to other duties then at home fixing up my truck and our farm truck this is all on top of what I gotta do around here.
Edit: It's great to see that members here are checking up on everyone, it's good to see. I got a small list of things I need to finish up here first I gotta finish up image analysis for manipulation then I got audio which I need to analyze.

Alive and mostly kicking, thanks for checking in on the crew Kiyona. Spring buzz, trying to get a few things done on the home front. Been out a few times though only one overnight thus far that was a few weeks ago now. Hoping to get way up N this weekend for a couple of nights to a spot I've camped a good bit. One of the trips there I had a large something or other come in and wake me at 2:30ish am with a heavy stomp, felt as much as heard, about 3' feet from the head of my tent, half circled it, then proceeded to the edge of camp and knocked over a 10" dead snag and crashed off through the brush. Another night there, following year IIRC, I was dead asleep in the tent, back pressed up against tent wall, something pretty forcefully nudged me in the middle of my back and about rolled me over. I heard nothing retreating, just silence. We'll see if anything goes down this time.

If this was in Pennsylvania my ex-mother in law is currently on vacation there, keep all the food away basically just treat it as if it's a bear just more dangerous. If all else fails throw food away from yourself and the direction you want to run in then once distracted run.. run fast .. run deep but most important just run also keep all limbs away from her mouth region.
But on a serious note 10' off the deck that is massive and probably not a bear as not many even where they get big will be that size. It must be very stealthy if you heard nothing but it left that is interesting any prints outside or around the camp? I have an odd idea that leaf matter is used to hide possible prints by cryptids at least the smarter ones (eg bf/dm) also I believe that if you found a print and all of the sudden the trackway disappears and no trees or trees which won't support say 450+ lbs then check 20' around that last print. Stay safe out there.

Wow sounds fun and exciting! I can't wait to get out and go camping. My dog's Klymit inflatable dog bed finally came, so she will have her comfort away from home too. I just don't want to go alone, mostly the 411 reason, or bad intentioned humans, the non human beings I'm worried least about.
Nice to have a dog along, not only for company but their finely tuned senses make for good advanced warning. I hear you about that variety of semi-human and like you, I'm fine with the locals. I've gone out alone most times and usually away from the unsavory type of hooligan. I've never yet been lucky enough to solve the 411 question for myself:)
Well looks as if I've inadvertently used my moderator super powers to flummix up your post, apologies Kiyona

I'm in the live and let live camp, things would have to get into the deep South before I fired any shots but back then I had an Colt Officers Model 1911 in .45 Now, in the tent, it's a full size 1911 with a .460 Rowland conversion with TLR-1 on the light rail. Occasionally a Marlin Guide Gun in 45-70 in the truck.
