Network television usually does a poor job with cryptid accounts -- exaggerating them for dramatic effect, often intentionally introducing falsehoods. I think it's better to listen directly to eyewitness accounts and to read books on the topic by serious authors like Linda Godfrey. The common TV approach reminds me of the famous quote from that classic John Ford western, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance:
"When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.”
That's what they usually do, regardless of the facts.

What i liked about the show : The portrayal of the dogmen was the most realistic by any television show so far. In some editing jump cuts it actually looked like dogman which added to the suspense What i didnt like about the show : This happened in 2006 these people would have done research to find out what those creatures were. DOGMAN. They lied and kept saying " we dont have any idea what those creatures could be ". Their story is in one of Linda Godfreys books from where she interviewed them ! THE COVER-UP BY THE TELEVISION AND MAINSTREAM MEDIA CONTINUES 😡 I agree! They knew exactly what they were.....what else could they have been?
