I have many questions and I believe we could learn a lot about these animals by determining whether they are more human or animal. For instance, are their reproductive organs human? Do the females have 2 teats or many? Do they birth one baby or many? I believe we could learn about their habits and family/pack structure. Anybody have ideas or hear of research?

I think they are a humanoid canine. AKA I think they have a litter of maybe a few pups. However in stories where they come across the upright canines and their pups as well, I usually hear of only 1 lone pup. So maybe they are more similar to humans in that respect. We mostly encounter male Dogmen, this may be explained that perhaps they are the ones that protect the territory and hunt more often than the females? We really won't know these things in detail unless someone befriends one of them and can study them or we can somehow watch them on video cams placed in a forest. We are just an intelligent animal as well, and I think they are very similar to us in intelligence. This can be verified by their avoidance of cameras/destroying them, their ability to be alpha predators, and even in some known instances in which they speak human words albeit limited.
I'm not actually sure if they are canine or not. They could be relatives of the Dire Wolf. They could also be like hyenas in which they resemble canine features but are actually a very unique species with a completely different evolutionary history and trajectory. As to whether or not they share a common ancestor with canines or hyenas even, we need genetic material to be able to figure that out and only the government probably has that information IF the government actually knows of or acknowledges their existence.
