Hi Guys,
Thanks for looking at the tracks. What intrigued me about the set pictured in episode 120 was that they didn't appear to make sense if we assume a single, bi-pedal animal. I hadn't considered the possibility of two since only one was reported, but you may be right Crow. Anyway, If we take them to be a single set of tracks and allow that tracks on the left are from the left and vice-versa, the gait looks wrong to me, it appears as if at one point the animal cross-stepped bringing the right foot in front and outside of the left. Stepping like that is feasible to avoid an obstacle but no obstacle was present in the photo. As to the set in the snow, the tracks appear too widely set to correspond to the shortness of the stride. I do have some tracking experience, but these are only casual observations based on the photographs which may well distort the perspective.
Crow, I agree that missing the target is the most likely explanation. Shooting accurately at a moving target while in a state of high anxiety is nearly impossible. Having internal body armor could account for the ineffectiveness of handgun rounds, But a .270 rifle is something else. If I remember correctly the range was somewhere around 30-50 yds. At that distance a center of mass hit would be fatal even without penetration. The kinetic energy transferred to the internal organs would be enough to pulverize them in my opinion.
ag47 makes a good point about the variations between sightings as well as the number of sightings. Whatever Dogman is, there is a widespread population of them. Honestly I have no clue what they are, but if the number of encounters keeps increasing we should know soon enough. Maybe evolution threw us a curve................

Crow,
I don't have the scientific knowledge or mathematical skill to speak to the information in your link. I'm going to assume you meant to point out that this type of armor could sufficiently distribute the kinetic energy of a bullet impact to prevent injury to internal organs. The most honest comment I can make is that I simply don't know if this is possible. If so, it certainly supports what you've said about the use of higher caliber rifles being necessary.
By way of general ramblings I would think then that Dogman's most vulnerable targets would be the joints (pelvic girdle, knees, neck, elbows) as these would be the most difficult to armor and still retain flexibility. I wish I had something more useful to contribute but at this time I simply don't.
Naturalist studies are my primary endeavor, my interest in Cryptozoology is an off-shoot of that and will remain secondary to my work with bio-remediation, permaculture, phyto-electric generation, and herbal medicine.
Of course I'll continue to engage in our discussion here, but until further evidence is available, the time I can devote to Cryptids is best spent focusing on Skunk ape as I have much more ready access to sighting locations and witnesses.
ag47, since you seem to have some interest in it, I have two Ruger .357 magnum revolvers (a Security-six and a Blackhawk)that I carry in the field. Usually it's the stainless Security-six when I'm near the coast, and the blued Blackhawk when in upland areas.

If you are interested white feather, visit my Google page. Look for zaywolf on Google+. I go visiting with dogmen in the summer. I have a couple lengthy articles about my encounters, how I conduct myself while in dogman territories, and the details of my encounters and how I reach out to them. All true stories, nothing fabricated. I don't operate on hate and fear like most other people regarding the dogmen. I am a 45 yr old bachelor.
If you really want to get close to dogmen, you have to think of them as family. Many of my encounters happened because I sought the dogmen out with positive emotions towards them. My articles explain a lot.

WOW! there is a lot of great info in here. Thanks everyone for posting and networking. We are working diligently in finding an NADP social media who can respond within 24 hours. We have been quite slammed with all kinds of info and requests.

What if Anubis wasn't just one creature, but a whole species of super-guardians, chimeras genetically engineered by the fallen ones who left their abode in heaven to satiate their carnal desires and mate with human women whom they found attractive (described in Genesis 6)? It is said that these fallen angels who took on flesh brought with them all sorts of forbidden technology and taught it to their earthly wives and offspring (giants) who were fearful creatures. Nowadays, there are many reports of bipedal canines and in most of those reports they are fear-inducing creatures that snarl, growl, threaten, and act like a mean dog on a leash, wanting to gnaw on someone. What if that 'leash' is actually forces we cannot see? What if, at some point, the 'keeper' unsnaps that leash and says, 'sic-'em?' ---------------- Regarding hybrids, chimeras, and the corruption of human dna: There are those who believe those same fallen angels that were described in Genesis 6 sought to (perhaps under direct guidance and in collusion with the devil) corrupt human dna, not only to create creatures of their own twisted whims, but to render man something other than man, thereby nullifying man's eligibility for the gift of salvation. Another facet of that belief is that when it was said in the bible that Noah was 'pure in all his generations,' it was actually referring to genetic purity, i.e., Noah and his family's dna had not been corrupted, and that was the real reason for the flood, to kill off the genetically corrupted. Further, it states that when the end times grow near, 'as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be [again]...' [paraphrased] So, if we are in those times, and if it is, 'as it was in the days of Noah,' is this why people are encountering cryptids that should not exist? Are they the products of genetic monkey-business by well-funded groups which do not see the light of day? ----------------- I hope you enjoyed the digression. Think this stuff sounds 'out there?' It's not my ideas. This is information I've read in a variety of places. I'm just regurgitating it to the best of my recollection here. See Steve Quayle, Genesis 6 Giants, and also L.A. Marzulli's site. Check out Greg Alberino and Genesis 6 Productions on YouTube. Variety of sources, not just one or two, and it's really very interesting. Certainly makes me think about how it might relate to the strange stuff we're hearing about or encountering that is just not a part of the normal paradigm. ----------------- What is dogman? I don't know. You tell me. I'll say this, neither dogman nor bigfoot seem to be quite normal flesh, or we would have remains, specimens, etc., and we do not. Is dogman a myth? I doubt it, because I just don't see hundreds of reports with more flowing in daily being all false. ----------------- BEWARE OF THE ANIMALS

Crow, I agree. i truly don't know what they are, but just hearing these stories sets off all my red lights of caution. I listen too dogman encounters radio all the time and while a lot of the reports of dogman are scary I do not believe that they are that dangerous to people because if they where then there would be way more reporting's of unexplained deaths and missing person reporting then there would normally be and we are not just getting that.We also don't know that all those dead animal reports could be from natural predatory animals and not so much from dogman. Seeing how predators are now secretly coming back into places where they where once driven out of. Also What I tell people about any wild animal that they think are ''imaginary'' out to get them, Is that if predatory animals where really ''out to get us'' Then we would already be dead. That is the same with dogman. If dogman are as intelligent as we think they are, Human like intelligent, Then they should know that killing a whole bunch of human beings wouldn't be too go for there survival. Seeing how we out number them and we have weapons. I am sure that they are dangerous but only when they are injured, or threatened with self defense. I think dogman is more curious about us as we are of them. I think that if we are to try and interact with these creatures then they need to understand and know what our intentions are so that we can know what there intentions are. So that we can try and coexist with each other.

wolf's rain (do I know you from another post?),
I don't think anything's out to get me.
I'm just a cautious person, and I'm not stupid.
A couple of quotes from a well known General (Mattis):
Now, for those who may be slow on the uptake and dim on comprehension of subtlety, let me clarify that I do not have any plan to kill anyone, or any thing!
The purpose of the quotes is to put the reality of the world in which we live into perspective as described by someone other than myself, someone(s) more educated, trained, and experienced than I.
Regarding fear, a certain amount of controlled fear in certain situations is a very healthy thing. It serves to extend our lives.
Regarding preparedness: Consider it like insurance. We prepare in some ways which we hope we will never need to use. But, if we need it, we have it when to not have it would mean very serious consequences.
"By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail." -Ben Franklin Source: a whole lot of places.
Lastly, I'm beyond tired of repeating that I do not intend any violence towards dogman or anyone/anything else.
We live in a world where stupidity, lack of preparedness, and underestimating what others are capable of doing to us (and/or applying our own arbitrary set of standards to someone or some thing that operates on a totally different rule set) is often rewarded with violent victimization, up to and including death (sometimes very swiftly). Being aware of potential danger and being prepared to deal with a threat to one's safety is, to me, sound practical judgment that is independent of specialized knowledge or training. It should be simple, native intelligence to want to be cautious and to be able to protect one's self.
But then, it's also natural that there will be those who simply think they know more than the sum total of experience and actively choose to violate those most important and commonsense premises. I suppose that's natural too, and I have to conclude that it is nature's chlorine for the gene pool.
Have a great day, and good luck to you.

Hello again,
I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays.
Wolf Kin, being a naturalist my primary interest is in learning of the existence of a new apex predator in the forests of North America. My present stance is that it's possible, but not probable. I say this because evolution (over a short timespan) doesn't drastically vary a species. It follows a step-by step process of adaptations to counter changing environmental circumstances. I don't believe Dogman could have sprung whole from a canid parent species.
The apparently increasing number of sightings makes sense in light of the growing human population. I think we must also concede that with more sightings there are more misidentifications as well. During my time in law enforcement I experienced first hand how inaccurate eye witness reports can be. Still, this only accounts for a percentage of sightings, and not for the ones that occurred at close range in good light and were made by experienced outdoorsmen familiar with local wildlife.
It seems then, that Dogman is a relic species whose numbers are increasing for some reason, or that it is a product of human intervention. Given that it demonstrates aggression towards people, perhaps viewing us as a food source, serious investigation is called for.
Some of this is a reiteration of my earlier posts, but I'd still like to hear others thoughts on the subject.

White Feather. I agree, and have made the same observations on people's reports. There are just too many reports from too many credible people for them all to be misidentifications. I also entertain the idea that they may be the product of human intervention. There is a bunch of genetic manipulation going on now, and it would not surprise me at all to find that someone may be producing hybrids that aren't supposed to be, and messing with stuff that maybe should not be messed with. I posted the ancient beliefs about Anubis, and the reference to Quayle & Marzulli's ideas about ancient genetic manipulation because it's food for thought. It may be that there was that sort of thing going on at a time in history where we are taught there was no such technology. Maybe there was. Maybe we're at a point in time where it has made a resurgence. Maybe there are, as Steve Quayle says, "Things coming up on the Earth.." [which will cause men's hearts to fail them for fear]. Well aware how out-there that all sounds, but it's just a flight of fancy. The thing with dogman, bigfoot, Jersey Devil, and other reported cryptids is that there just hasn't been any concrete evidence verified. No dead bodies, bones, etc., and it would seem there should be. Reading about the goings-on on the Skinwalker Ranch in Utah, and other reports, makes me wonder if there aren't things appearing that go beyond what we normally perceive in the world in which we exist. Consider this extradimensional explanation by the late Carl Sagan: www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0WjV6MmCyMSuperstring Theory posits that we live in a universe of ten dimensions. To quote from that article: [Note: I've also been taught that some scientific disciplines posit 11 dimensions.] So, for discussion, just for fun, what if these creatures originate or employ aspects of reality that we do not normally perceive? Just a wild thought that I keep having when I hear stories of people seeing things disappear, or following tracks that just stop with no explanation. I hope we get some information and answers on the dogman and the other high strangeness that is increasingly being reported these days. What do you think of those ideas?

Hi ag47,
At this point I don't think there's anything wrong at all with suggesting "out there" premises. In fact, not ruling out those theories may be the best way to proceed for now as we have so little quantifiable evidence to work with.
I don't think there's any doubt that cryptid species exist, with cryptid being defined as an animal unknown to science, or a known animal maintaining a population in a location the species is not known to occur. The latter, I think, explains the Skunk ape phenomenon. It's worth remembering that until 2002 the Glyphis shark was a cryptid, and barely a century ago the Gorilla was as well.
The point I'm intending to make is simply that the current lack of physical evidence is not a valid indicator of existence.
Human nature being what it is, genetic manipulation is a solid possibility in my opinion. Our ability to achieve astounding feats of stupidity is apparently limitless.
To my mind the worst case scenario would be inter-dimensional beings. That ability or technology is so far beyond our own that there is no conceivable path for us to counter it. If history holds true, then invasion, subjugation, and extinction would likely follow.
The one bright spot here seems to be that dogmen recognize and fear firearms to a certain extent. At least this was seemingly exhibited in several interviews Vic has done.
For now I'm going to stand by what I said earlier. A biological animal weighing approx. 400lb shot center-of-mass at close range with a 130gr .270 would not survive. However, as often happens with big game animals, adrenalin dump allows them to run considerable distances before expiring. So, I think the question here is what or who took the remains.
As for the tracks that inexplicably stop, dogman has been credited with amazing physical prowess. I think we should examine the possibility that rather than disappearing into thin air it instead made an unexpectedly long leap, landing out of view to anyone tracking it.
Vic did one interview that particularly interested me personally. The report was from a hunter who came face-to-face with a dogman at very close range. In short, the hunter had the sights of his 7mm rem. mag. leveled at the things head from about 15' yet didn't shoot fearing he wouldn't kill it. This stunned me, I've hunted deer and bear with a 7mm rem. mag. and this rifle is quite capable of taking game in the 1,000lb range. I simply can't wrap my head around why he would have doubted it's ability to take an animal half that size from point blank range.
